How TopPicksAU treats information about you, and why there is so little of it to talk about.
TopPicksAU (toppicksau.com) is a small website that hosts a handful of classic games playable in a web browser. Nowhere on it will you find an account to create, a profile to fill in or a login screen. You can use every part of the site without identifying yourself.
Personal details are never requested, and the site contains no form that could take them in. In common with nearly every website, our server writes a routine technical log for each request:
We use these logs to keep the site healthy and to see which pages people visit. They are not used to build a profile of you, and they are never sold or passed on for advertising purposes.
No cookies are set by the site itself. 2048 and Sudoku save your current grid in your browser’s local storage so you can pick up where you left off; that information stays on your device, never reaches us, and can be cleared from your browser settings whenever you wish.
The games are hosted right here. If a page links somewhere else, an email link for instance, that destination applies its own privacy policy and cookies, which we neither control nor see.
Should you email info@toppicksau.com, we hold your message and address for as long as it takes to reply and for a reasonable time after that. Your address is not added to any mailing list.
The games on offer are the sort found in school libraries and family lounge rooms: chess, sudoku, number puzzles. The site is not directed at young children in particular, and because we collect no personal information, we do not knowingly hold any data about them.
Depending on the law where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected or to have it deleted. As there is no account data, any such request would in practice relate to server logs or an email conversation. Send it to info@toppicksau.com and we will get back to you.
We deliver the site over HTTPS and keep the software current. No setup is perfect, but with no personal data kept here, there is next to nothing for anyone to reach.
When the site changes in a way that matters here, this page changes with it. The version you are reading now is the one that applies.
